the old pueblo, take 1

Hello from Tucson! I had a really easy trip and Susan was here waiting for me at the airport. Luckily I packed more efficiently than this woman, who apparently brought a giant teddy bear and some posters on her trip to Tucson.

After my tour of Susan's apartment, we headed straight for the U of A library to check out some reading material for the weekend. We caught up over delicious brie, beers, and pizza at Frog & Firkin on University Blvd., and watched a person in a penguin suit walk up and down the street.

The 95 degree heat actually doesn't feel so bad--definitely no worse than the humid 85 back in North Carolina. We'll see how I feel when it gets above 100 though! (probably not as optimistic)

Today we're heading down to Puerto PeƱasco for some beach time (sharks, jellyfish, 8-meter flying manta rays, etc.), shrimp on the barbie, Scrabble, library books, campfires, and general Mexican fun. I'll be away from the internet and cell service for a few days, but will check in when we're back.

From our rental's information sheet: "
Remember it IS the beach - let the wind do your hair for you." Off to a good start :)
